Rocking Chair Wares is just one retired grandmother who loves to work with her hands. These hands have been crafting items for over 60 years. I love the feel of soft woolly yarns through my fingers and the thrill of a completed item when it all comes together.
When I was 14 years old I became very sick. I wasn’t allowed to be physically active. My wonderful sister bought a how to book, knitting needles and two skeins of yarn from the department store downtown. Before I could go outside and play with the neighbors I had made items that were not so much from the book but were truly my own.
Sometimes I want to learn something new. Sometimes I just want to know if I can master the item. If you find something on this site today it may not be recreated and available tomorrow. Part of the thrill of crafting is the next new project.
For over 60 years I have been sewing, knitting, crocheting and so much more. I am not a brand. I am a maker. I love working with my hands and creating things.
